Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) – Simple Driving, Bradford

Q1. Do you offer automatic driving lessons?

A1. No. Simple Driving provides manual driving lessons only for all learners.

Q2. How do I book driving lessons?

A2. All lessons are booked online through our booking page. Phone calls are not available during online-only administration periods, and email or WhatsApp responses may take up to 24–48 hours.

Q3. When do lessons start?

A3. Lessons are available from 4th May 2026. Available slots are displayed in real time during the online booking process.

Q4. Can I choose my instructor?

A4. You will learn with the same DVSA-approved instructor, Mohammod Islam, throughout your learning journey. Instructor changes are not offered mid-training to maintain consistency and progress.

Q5. Do you offer pay-as-you-go lessons?

A5. Yes. We offer 1-hour and 2-hour pay-as-you-go lessons. Discounted block lesson packages (10, 20, or 30 hours) are also available. Continuous booking and payment are required to remain in the instructor’s diary. See Pricing & Packages for details.

Q6. Are lesson packages discounted?

A6. Yes. Packages are discounted due to online-only administration and lower overheads. Savings apply to your entire learning journey, not just an initial promotion.

Q7. How are package payments handled?

A7.

  • Reservation Deposit: Pay £30 online to Simple-Driving to secure your chosen slots.

  • Remaining Balance: Paid directly to your instructor on your first lesson by cash or bank transfer.

  • Card Payments: If you wish to pay by card, notify your instructor at least 24 hours in advance. A 3% card usage fee applies.

  • Lessons for packages are delivered in 2-hour sessions for faster progress.

 

Q8. Can I cancel or reschedule a lesson?

A8. Lessons cannot be fully cancelled. You may reschedule lessons with at least 48 hours’ notice to avoid losing the lesson fee. For late rescheduling or missed lessons, please refer to our Terms & Conditions.

Q9. What happens if I’m late or miss a lesson?

A9. If you are late, your lesson time will be reduced. Missed lessons or no-shows are charged at the full lesson rate.

Q10. Where do you offer lessons?

A10. We provide manual lessons across Bradford and selected Leeds postcodes, including: BD1, BD2, BD3, BD4, BD5, BD7, BD8, BD10, and LS28.

Q11. Do you pick up and drop off from home, work, or college?

A11. Yes. Lessons can start and finish at your home, workplace, or college, provided it is within our covered areas.

Q12. What age do I need to be to start driving lessons, and do I need a provisional licence?

A12. You must be at least 17 years old and hold a valid UK provisional driving licence before your first lesson.

Q13. What car will I be learning in?

A13. Lessons are conducted in a modern manual car fitted with dual controls for safety and learning support.

Q14. Do you offer evening or weekend lessons?

A14. Yes. Weekend lessons are available. Evening slots are limited during winter due to shorter daylight hours. All available times are shown in real time during online booking.

Q15. Do you help with booking the driving test?

A15. Learners are responsible for booking their own driving test via the official GOV.UK website. Guidance and advice will be provided when you are assessed as test-ready.

Q16. Can I use your car for my driving test?

A16. Yes. The instructor’s car may be used for your test with instructor approval once you are assessed as ready.

  • The instructor’s test-day fee (usually a 2-hour minimum, currently £130) is separate from the DVSA test fee.

Q17. Which driving test centres do you cover?

A17. We specialise in Thornbury, Heaton, and Horsforth test centres. Our instructors are familiar with all local test routes, and you will usually take your test at the nearest available centre.

Q18. What happens if the instructor needs to cancel a lesson?

A18. If a lesson is cancelled by the instructor due to emergency or vehicle issues, a replacement lesson will be scheduled at no additional cost.

Q19. Are lessons suitable for beginners or nervous drivers?

A19. Yes. Lessons are structured for complete beginners and nervous learners with a calm, patient, and progressive approach.
